ALLEY MACPHERSON, Dance Instructor
Alley is a Massachusetts-based dance medicine and pelvic floor physical therapist who continues to pursue her passion for teaching dance. She grew up dancing and teaching in Quincy, MA at Velocity Dance Company before going to college. Alley double-majored to earn her B.S. in Dance while pursuing her Doctorate in Physical Therapy. In college, audition based opportunities allowed her to perform locally as well as in NYC and Florence, Italy. Her choreography was also chosen for the American College Dance Association New England Conference in 2021. She has performed choreographic works by professional artists such as Monica Bill-Barnes, Darrell Grand Moultrie, and Sarah Zehnder. She continued teaching summer programs at Velocity Dance Company each summer and has taught consistently since graduating with her Doctorate in 2023.
She received her certification in Progressing Contemporary Technique in 2024 and enjoys seeking out dance intensives, classes, and workshops throughout the New England region. After a short break from teaching while working as a physical therapist on a Broadway tour in 2025, Alley is excited to dive back into teaching. She has a deep passion for combining her love of movement science with dance to help dancers feel strong, capable, and confident in their bodies. Alley is open to any style of dance class, but she has a deep love for teaching jazz, contemporary, and musical theater. She believes dance is a universal language with the power to bring people together—from joy to grief, empowerment to embarrassment, and love to fear.
Outside of dance and PT, Alley loves yoga, hiking, and cooking homemade meals to fuel her busy life! She hopes to inspire dancers of all ages to cultivate healthy habits using knowledge, creativity, and human connection. While creating a safe and fun space is her priority, she loves to challenge the body and mind to explore what we're all capable of, through dance and throughout life.
