COSTUMES

All dancers will wear amazing new costumes in our 2024 showcase!  Costume fees are included in your monthly tuition.

"Costume bags" will be distributed to all students as costumes arrive in the studio. These bags will contain all costume pieces. Detailed instructions on how the costume and hair are to be worn can be found in your parent portal under the “costume” tab. Costumes have been tried on prior to sending them home.

On the day of the Showcase, dancers should arrive fully dressed in her/his costume with hair already done.  Please ensure that your dancer is NOT wearing any jewelry, nail polish, or temporary tattoos.

Costumes are yours to keep!

TIGHTS

Tights can be purchased directly through Etoile at the front desk or through our website to pick up at the studio. *These are available to purchase any time through the last week of classes.

OTHER NOTES:

  • Jewelry and nail polish must be removed for pictures, rehearsal, and Showcase performances.

  • Underwear is not allowed under costumes. (Think of leotards or dance shorts like a swimsuit - there is no need for the extra layer underneath!)

  • Please write your dancer's name in every SINGLE item they bring to the venue. Lost items without a name will be donated.

MAKEUP + HAIR

All students regardless of age are required to wear makeup for the show: lipstick, blush, eye shadow, and mascara. We want to see these beautiful faces under the heavy stage lights.

In order to eliminate distractions, and have your dancer’s face be seen on stage, hair must be worn in a style that is appropriate for a professional performance. We highly recommend a ballet bun or a braid(s) tucked under.

  1. Any Red Lipstick - we recommend Maybelline Super Stay Vinyl Ink Longwear No-Budge Liquid Lip Color in color #50, Wicked”, but again any red will do!

  2. Use Base and Powder to match skin tone.

  3. Eye Shadow (Neutral Shades) - Use dark color from the outer corner into the crease, base color over lid, and lighter color in the inner corner of eye.

  4. Eyeliner (Black) - Use on upper and lower eyelid. Please extend past outer corner of lid and lines should NOT connect together.

  5. Mascara (Black) - Use on Upper lashes.
